Samantha has been a landscape designer since 2006 and a certified permaculture designer since 2012. She first learned her trade with a master landscape designer who had a passion for exploring how the natural world provided solutions to natural consequences, from drought and drainage to the wildly variable Texas climate. But after a few years of designing landscapes, she became increasingly concerned about the way that common landscape design didn't endeavor to reduce maintenance or give back anything more to client or nature than "something pretty."
While living in Argentina, Samantha learned about Permaculture, and the way that it provided not only abundance for the people, but for wildlife and entire communities. Not only were the results lovely, but the maintenance decreased over time as Mother Nature was given room to do what she does best: create stunning abundance.
Although she still provides Permaculture landscape design services from time to time, she now focuses her design skills on teaching Permaculture and nutrition at Integrity Academy, a local school that promotes continuous, ubiquitous learning and endeavors to keep students as close to their natural world as possible while they still learn the subjects that their public school peers are expected to know.
